This year’s topic ‘Medicine and Law: The Changing Face of Regulation’ focuses on how advances in quality improvement and patient safety can be achieved through initiatives in professional regulation. Medical and legal practitioners consistently require focus to ensure successful and sustainable improvements in the quality of medical care and the delivery of legal services. Regrettably, breach of duty can and does occur, and professional standards are compromised. We are honoured to have Dr. Harry Brünjes and Dr. Andrew Johns perform their sensational, docudrama production, ‘Dial Medicine for Murder’ from the Edinburgh Festival which compares the background, arrest, trial and legacies of the two serial killer general practitioners, Dr Harold Shipman and Dr Bodkin-Adams.
