Vice President: Dr. Sheila Willis

Sheila Willis was Director General of Forensic Science Ireland from 2002-2017 during which time FSI became the custodian of the National DNA database. On retirement, she worked in the USA reviewing DNA mixture interpretation and later, on forensic science, in Pakistan, Poland, Australia and Canada. She was President of the Medico-Legal Society 2003-2005 and is the immediate past President  of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. She is a member of advisory boards in Scotland, Netherlands and Australia. She studied Chemistry and received her Ph.D.at University College Dublin from where she was proud to receive the Alumnus prize for innovation in Science in 2017 and an honorary D.Sc. in 2019.
